On April 11, 2025, the world lost Gerardo Hernandez, an adventurer at heart and a cornerstone beloved by all who knew him. His life, marked by 73 vibrant years, began on January 22, 1952. Born to Luis and Mireya Hernandez, Gerardo's early years whispered tales of his adventurous spirit.
In the backdrop of lush landscapes and boundless frontiers of Costa Rica, young Gerardo grew, nurtured by the nurturing lands. When he was about 20 years old, his family made a life-changing move from Costa Rica—each mile settling into his soul tales of exploration and vigor.
Equipped with a resolute spirit and a high school diploma of promise, he charted his course northward and embarked on a journey within his new home. Here in the vast realms of possibilities, he became a carpenter, building dreams through every grain and groove—a craftsman's touch that rose above mere wood.
Amidst the foundation of his years, he discovered companionship in Nida Chung Fabe, enriching his narrative further with the warmth of marriage. Together, Gerardo and Nida crafted a testament to love, deeply embedded in dedication and shared dreams.
Hard-working, adventurous till his very last days, Gerardo’s story was written with courage—a reflection of his tireless pursuit for what lay beyond only him. A pane of tempered has joined the living latticework above, crossing beloved essence and hard-hewn history—a soul tethering time through cadence of incessant loves and toil.
Here has hushed to softly breathe: In loving memory, gone but forever sheltered among luminescent legacy and skies endlessly blue.
