I was stationed with Grace in the Air Force in French Morrocco and California. We also toured Europe together. We had many happy adventures. Sympathy to Joe and his family.

I worked with Grace at the Apollo Rehab for Fresno County many years ago.  She never stopped working!  She was funny, loved the mental health clients and her co-workers.  She had Brutus then, a huge doberman.  She loved dogs!  I am so sorry to hear of her passing.  She was a good friend, co-worker and mother.  RIP Ms. Grace!

I came to know Grace at Fairwinds less than a year ago when my mom got there.  She was always such a breath of fresh air and so with it!!  It was always a pleasure to sit with her and have conversations about her wonderful life and family she adored so much...I never got to meet her son, but she always spoke so highly of him.  She will be greatly missed....I know I already miss our conversations and her dry humor.  God bless you Grace you are now one of God's angels..Rest in peace

Sending condolences  to the family .......So sorry to hear of Grace's passing. I met Grace these past few months while she was a resident at Fairwinds. She and my mom became fast friends and we shared many dinners together there. Loved her wit, her laughter, and her zest for life. We had dinner together on Veteran's Day and she had her dinner free if she could show them that she served in the War. She proudly brought her pictures down to dinner which she shared with mom and I and I told her how awesome she looked.  We would always share some wonderful stories about her family. I'm sorry that  I never got to meet any of her family.   You had to be so proud of her accomplishments. What an amazing woman with such strength. I feel blessed that I was fortunate to make her acquaintance.

I want to say how sad I was to hear of her passing. I worked with Grace for a number of years with Fresno County. I got to know her fairly well. She was always great to work with and I enjoyed talking with her. She was a hard worker and took very good care of all her patients. She was a great nurse!

So very sorry to hear of Grace's passing.  She and I both lived on Spruce for many years and I enjoyed seeing her walking her dogs or at the grocery store.  Always such a warm and special neighbor.  May she RIP.

Please rest in peace. I never had the chance to meet you, but I know you raised a great son! My condolences to the family.

There are some people you meet in life who will never leave an impression. There are other people you meet who leave you a good or bad impression and then there are those people you meet that leave you with more than an impression.  After meeting them you are left with wanting to know more about them. Grace Dempsey was one of those people to me. 
I met Grace at Joe's office a few years ago and the first thing she asked me was if I could take her to Pappas.  Of course I said yes, because this lady knew what she wanted and wasn't afraid to ask.  On our way to Pappas we had a long conversation about dogs and she asked me to stop by for lunch when I'm in Fresno. 
A few months after our first meeting I was in Fresno, so we went out to dinner instead of lunch. I was fascinated about her stories about her time in the service, her life as a nurse, her passion about her dogs and how she managed being a single mother.   She was wearing an owl pendant that was given to her by granddaughter Dylan and her bright, beautiful, blue eyes lit up when she spoke about receiving this gift.    
She said she had a full life and didn't have many regrets.  She made tough choices and never fell victim to the choices made.  She was direct, spicy and felt things deeply.  She raised a son on her own and was unapologetic on how she raised him.  Her son became a great husband, father and friend.
Grace your legacy will continue to live on through your son, Joe and granddaughter, Dylan. 
You will continue to be my inspiration on what it means to be strong and capable woman.
