Gregg was born September 18, 1958, in Fresno, California, to Jack Raymond Appleton and Edna Mae Locke (Appleton). Jack worked for Con Ag at the turkey farm and processing plant.
Gregg attended Centennial Elementary, Sierra Junior High School and matriculated to McLane High School. While in High School, he started working at Con Ag along with his dad. He was also a big CB Radio enthusiast. After graduating in 1976, and while still working for Con Ag, he studied at San Joaquin Valley College where he earned an Associate Degree in Science.
Eventually Gregg became the defacto manager at Con Ag and from there moved on to a job with Boyle Engineering.
He got married.. and divorced.
The last 11 years of his life, Gregg worked for the Fresno County School District, as he put it, “crunching numbers.”
He was a cancer survivor, following a lumpectomy that removed 10% of his lung. His most recent tests showed him to be cancer free.
He loved music and attending live concerts.
Gregg is survived by his brother Ray Appleton, sisters Debbi Roche, Kathy Stodgel and Sandy Fini.
