
Hamp was born in Stamps, Arkansas on April 18,1926, to John and Glennie Kuykendall. He passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012, at the age of 85, in Fresno. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army during WWII. His tour of duty was in Europe. Hamp eventually moved to Bakersfield, CA to be near his older sister. He met Marie in Bakersfield and they were married in 1958. They moved to Fresno where he worked for United Grocer's/Fleming. He was a truck driver for 34 years. He enjoyed sports. He coached his son in Little League. He was a frequent baseball fan for his grandson and nephews from little league through college ball. In his early days he was an avid bowler. He & Marie teamed up for many leagues. In his later years you could find Hamp on the golf course. When Hamp & Marie traveled they took their golf clubs. He was very proud of his "hole in one" at Riverside Golf Course. Hamp was very proud of his children. He leaves behind 2 daughters & a son, Linda Lewis & husband Barry, Patti Parham & husband Steve, Ed Kuykendall & wife Holly. However, his pride & joy are his grandchildren, Erik Lewis & wife Erin, Amy Dritsas & husband Eric, Matthew Parham & wife Elyse, Stephanie Hanson & husband Jeff. Plus, 2 great grand-daughters, Madilynn Lewis and Aubrey Hanson.
Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home on February, Thursday, 16, 2012 from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Graveside service at Fresno Memorial Gardens on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 11:00 am.
