Harriet G. Westra

She was born March 7, 1926 in Waupun, WI to Henry and Leona VandeSlunt. She married Ed Westra September 16, 1947.

Harriet had a great faith and exemplified that as a homemaker for her family. She found her purpose and joy in loving God, her husband and children.

Harriet and Ed had four wonderful children that they enjoyed life with. James Westra of Fresno, CA; Shirley Westra of Waupun, WI; Gary Westra of Wendell, ID; and Charlene Ede of Altoona, IA. Harriet had 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She had been a long time member of Fresno Christian Reformed Church where she had many dear friends. She served her church for many years in various areas, such as Sunday School teacher, meal assistance at the Storyland Motel, cooking team for family night, provided transportation for others and was a caretaker for those in need.

Her parents and her husband precede Harriet in death. Graveside service will be held Friday March 30th at 10:00AM at Belmont Memorial Park. A Memorial Celebration service will follow at 11:00AM at Fresno Christian Reformed Church; 1639 West Shields Ave. Fresno, CA 93705.

Pallbearers are, her grandsons: Eric and Michael Kratz, Christopher Parmelee, Sam, Tim, Ben, and Jon Westra, Josh Ede, and her great-grandsons: David and Mathew Emery.
