Mrs. Hilda L Mattos

Hilda was born in Lemoore, Ca., on October 7, 1924. She met her loving husband, Manuel while in elementary school. During a leave from the Army, and after much persuasion, Hilda finally agreed to one date. That one date turned into a beautiful life together. Their life was full of love and hard work and a shared enjoyment of dancing. Their marriage and commitment was an inspiration to all in their family.

Hilda was a proud homemaker, who was not only dedicated to her family, but also her Catholic faith. She never lost her love of dancing and singing, and until the end, had the most beautiful voice. The family takes great comfort in knowing that the day before her passing, she was dancing and singing.

The family would like to thank the owner of Serenity Living, Josiane Jones and her staff, especially Lisa Luna. A special thank you to Pat McAusland for the love and care over the years.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Manuel A. Mattos; sisters, Mary Rocha, Isabel Mattos, and Josephine Mattos; and brother, Joe Silveira.

Hilda is survived by her children, Carol Olsen and her husband Rodney, Mary Martin, Sonny Mattos and his wife Celeste, Maureen Margarian and her husband Henry and Jim Mattos and his wife Leslie all of Fresno; her grandchildren, Denise Roberts and her husband Jason, Amy Lore and her husband Hall, Rodney Olsen and his wife Mariette, Brian Mattos, Matthew Margarian and his wife Astrid, Brenden Olsen and his wife Cindy, David Martin, Jeffrey Margarian and his fiancee Randi, McKenna and Jared Mattos; and her great grandchildren, Sarah, Amanda, Bo, Ryan, Jayden, Lilliana, and Johann.

Visitation will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by

Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
