

James “Jim” Edmund Beffort, age 65, passed away on February 18, 2026, in Clovis, California.
Jim was born on October 1, 1960, in Burbank, California, to Stanley Edmund Beffort and Darlene (Beffort) Yates. He grew up with a strong work ethic and an easygoing spirit that stayed with him throughout his life.
Jim was married to his beloved wife, Sonja Beffort, for 37 wonderful years. Together they built a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories.
As a young man, Jim started his own tire business in Fresno, California. His entrepreneurial spirit and dedication led him to a successful career in the tire industry, where he later served as a sales leader at East Bay Tire. He was respected by colleagues and customers alike for his integrity, warmth, and natural ability to connect with people.
Jim truly enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He loved cooking and barbecuing and was known for being exceptional at it, often bringing family and friends together around a great meal. He also enjoyed golfing and treasured the time he spent at the coast with his wife Sonja, and their dog, Groot.
Those who knew Jim will remember his ever-present smile and positive outlook on life. He was the kind of person who always saw the glass half full. Personable and quick-witted, Jim had a generous heart and a special gift for making everyone laugh. His warmth and humor left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Sonja Beffort; his mother, Darlene (Beffort) Yates; his sister, Sheri (Beffort) Fenley; his brother, Steve Beffort and his wife Julie; as well as many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Edmund Beffort, and his brother, Scott Stanley Beffort.
Jim will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his kindness, humor, and the joy he brought to the lives of those around him. His legacy of laughter, generosity, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
