Known affectionately as Jim to his friends, and Papa to his family, James was a beloved, humorous, and kind-hearted individual.
James graduated from high school and went on to serve as a sergeant in the United States Air Force. After his military service, he embarked on a career as a diesel mechanic, dedicating 26 years to his craft. It was during his time in the Air Force that James met his wife, Barbara, with whom he shared a deep and enduring love.
James was a generous soul who would do anything for anybody, including strangers in need. He had a talent for teasing, all in loving fun, of course, and he kept a "secret" drawer full of treasures for his grandchildren. A kindhearted grown-up kid, James leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter.
James was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Julia Lambert; his wife, Barbara Lambert; his brothers, Junior and Curtis Lambert; and his sister, Lil Turpin. He is survived by his sons, Kent Lambert (Jamie Lambert) and Curt Lambert (Annette Lambert); his grandchildren, Troy Lambert (Heather Lambert), Shawn Lambert (Ashley Pinion), Cara Farr (Mike Farr), and Hanna Topalian (Anthony Topalian); his great-grandchildren, Kimberly Lambert, Dakota Lambert, Landon Lambert, Grayson Farr, and Beckham Farr; and his great-great-grandchild, Kaya Leal.
James' family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff and residents at Palm Village Retirement Community in Reedley, California, for all of their kindness and help. They also wish to extend their thanks to everyone who has reached out to offer love and support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations in James' honor can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, located at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105, or online at [St. Jude's Donation Page](https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html?sc_icid=header-btn-donate-now).
