I'm Sorry I wasn't there, and I'm sorry you are gone. Your love lives on, in me. I wish we had more time together. I think of you, I miss you. You were a good man, my calm in the storm of life.  I love you Jason, now and forever. I remember driving you nuts playing that same perfect circle CD I liked over and over, and you asked why I liked it so much and I told you how the song 3 Libras, it has this line that says "eyes of a fallen angel, eyes of a tragedy, " and it reminds me of your face everytime I hear it. And you kinda melted, and put the CD back on repeat for me, I remember you teaching me guitar in the Fresno college stairwell so that I could hear it really really well because we didn't have a guitar amp at the time... Your face lit up when I finally didn't hit a sour cord and you being you , you heard one single good note and exploding with pride for me you said oh you have really got it now, keep going! Smiling from ear to ear, you were like that you would over look the thousand bad notes and tenderly hold up the good one that finally appeared, excited as if it was the most precious thing you'd ever heard. Your talent knew no limits, your patience was only superseded by your enveloping soul and heart. Your love, taught me what love is, and I'm so glad you knew how much I love you, and I'm glad I knew how much you loved me. I remember you so fondly, and for that I am grateful. A number of years ago Jason sent me a lovely statue of the Infant of Prague.  It was a special surprise.  It touched my heart to realize he knew how special it would be to me.  And I think of him every time I  look at it.  I still have fond memories of him playing his quitar at one of our family reunions.
Rest in peace dear Grand Nephew Jason.

Jason is my first grandchild.  Jason was special in many ways.  He was a little quiet like his mother.  When he was little, he loved to go to the airport before he went to sleep.  "Take me to the Airport."
I loved to spend time with him and also listen to him play his quitar music.  
He loved his family and looked forward to get togethers.
I told him that I held him a lot when he was a baby because I thought it would make him happy.  He said  "I'm sorry Grandma, I don't remember."

I had the privilege of getting to know Jason the short time I lived in Fresno.  During that time I just completed guide school.  Shortly afterwards, I bought a boat and started rafting on the Kings River.  Jason, Tim, and I were the unfortunate victims of my first solo trip .  At the beginning of the run we flipped on a class III rapid losing everything we had packed to eat for lunch.  There we were, the three of us swimming down the middle of the river with 9.5 miles to go.  We flipped the boat so many times that day we nicked named my boat "Flipper".  Luckily, Tim had training as a Navy rescue swimmer and would retrieve the boat and the rest of us many times over.  I like to think at the end of the day we had made a special bond.  Especially when we finally got to the take out.  The next time the three of us went rafting my brother Jim joined us.  He completed our 4 man team. Later in the evening we camped along the river.  Jim had precooked all his vegetables and thinly sliced the half frozen meat to prepare the best beef stroganoff I ever tasted.  The four of us ate like kings that night.    I also want to share my dad's story of Jason.  My dad was a great story teller with many stories to repeat.  All "True Stories". But, by far his favorite was when Jason, Patty, and Tim came to visit.  They were on the lake in my dad's motorboat when Jason asked to drive the boat.   He asked my dad, "How fast can I go?"  My dad's response  (to Patty's dismay).  was "Let her rip!"  As Jason put the boat in full throttle, Patty cringed for dear life leaving Tim in the back unable to control his laughter.  Lastly my favorite memory of Jason was softly and unassumingly playing guitar at my mother's funeral.  So, to you Jason I say, "As you gently rise, I softly call goodnight and joy to you".  Agus go mbuailimid le cheile aris (and may we meet again)

Jason enjoyed me singing "Sweet Child O' Mine" to him, no matter his age🎶. He laughed deeply whenever we watched the movie, "What about Bob?".   Smells of home cooking in the house always brought him joy.

Patty, dear friend from many years ago. So sorry to hear about the loss of your son. I remember him always being the apple of your eye 💖

My condoleances for this enormous loss of your son Jason. I still have the found memories with Jason when he was a young kid with lots of energy. And kept in touch with Jason through Facebook. Rest In Peace Jason🙏🏽

Jason, you lived a shorter life, but left a bigger imprint on our hearts and touched the hearts of many people. Your wings were ready, my heart was not.

The depth of this pain equals the depth of the joy in knowing you.
