In 1983 Tom walked into my lab needing technical help. A year later he hired me to be his plant manager and chemist. For the next 20 years or so we were together daily. He became my boss, partner, golf coach, mentor and best friend. Together we travelled to play golf on exclusive courses, went to Monterey, Idaho, shared season tickets to Bulldog sports and many other events. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, grandfather and brother to the people I got to know in his family. He and Ileta took Patty and me into this family to our great benefit. He was generous to all. They were so generous that when we married, they opened their home and put on a reception for us. He was not a perfect man, but he was a perfect friend.

I first met Tom back in the 1980s through some business dealings. Later we were co-workers with Monterey Ag. I always enjoyed Tom, whether it was working together or occasionally playing golf - he was very good at the game. Tom was always very generous to me, and although I didn't see him very often after he retired, I will always remember the times we shared.

I worked with Tom for many years when I worked for Monterey and he owned and managed CMR. I loved listening to his stories about his family, his trips to Idaho, The Bulldogs football team and the plant. My fondest memories are the laughs we would have reconciling paperwork.....he had his color highlighted ledgers and stacks of notes....but he could always find my answer. We had a lot of lunches and always a lot of laughs! Rest In Peace, Mr. Pierson....
