

Jerry was born in Indianapolis Indiana to Bernice and Emerson McNew. Jerry later changed his name to Rust in honor of his step father Norman Rust. Jerry had ambition, and a drive for hard work and success. As a young man, Jerry worked for Coca Cola and The Indianapolis Star. After moving to California in 1968, he worked for The Fresno Bee. He pursued real estate in Madera in the 70's and later opened DEANS COINS in 1980. Jerry was a brilliant business man and led many people to succeed during his time with us. He always had a new idea and was always excited to share. His passion and his drive were amongst some of his most outstanding qualities. His exuberant personality and love for life will truly be missed.
Jerry enjoyed all of life's pleasures to the fullest, his family, his friends, work, bowling, his cats and ice cream. Jerry loved to bowl and spent much of his time volunteering to teach kids in Oakhurst CA. You could find him most days amongst friends at the bowling alley. He considered them his extended family. Jerry was outgoing, entertaining, intelligent and fun to be around. He loved animals especially cats which were a big part of his life.
Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship. Survived by his devoted wife Becki Martin-Rust, his sister Greta Chenault and his daughters : Ellen Burson and husband Brad, Molly Rust, Charlotte Rose and husband Tom, Rachel Stull and husband Brad and 5 adoring grandchildren: Bradley, Emily, Jayden, Maddy and Haileh as well as 6 devoted cats whom he absolutely adored: Harvey, Baby, Ashes, Spike, Dillon and Chippers.
