Mrs. Johanna Billig

Johanna was born in Oslo, Norway, on February 8, 1932. At the age of two, her family moved to Butler, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Butler Senior High School, where she met her husband Robert.

After living in many cities all across the country, they settled in Fresno 33 years ago. In her 55+ years as a medical transcriptionist, she has worked for many companies, including St. Agnes Hospital and Community Hospitals in Fresno.

She enjoyed the ocean, shopping with her daughters, reading, and singing in the church choir. But most of all, she loved her adoring family.

She will be greatly missed by all.

Johanna is survived by Robert E. Billing of Fresno, her loving husband of over 56 years; daughter, Cathi Erbe and her husband David of Turlock; daughter, Amy Lynch and her husband Tom of Lynchburg, Virginia; and daughter, Roberta Jones and her husband Dean of Palmdale. She is also survived by her five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Monday, March 8, 2010, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Graveside Service at Turlock Memorial Park in Turlock, Ca. at 2:00 p.m.

Remembrances may be made to the Hope Lutheran Church Choir or to Hinds Hospice in Fresno.
