He was born on September 19, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, to Mildred and Edward Bracha.
John lived a life filled with kindness, loyalty, and a deep love for the people around him.
John proudly served his country in the United States Army. He carried that sense of dedication and strength throughout his life. He was a hard worker and dedicated 28 years at Oroweat and Entenmann’s where his friends enjoyed all the treats he would deliver.
Throughout his life he enjoyed skiing, fishing, and rooting for the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He also had a lifelong fascination with trains and, in his later years, joined a local train club.
As a father, he was always there for his children. Often, he coached his kids soccer, baseball, and basketball teams. As a family, they loved camping, going to the beach, and jetskiing in San Diego.
One of John’s greatest joys was being present for his cherished nine grandchildren. They would cuddle close to him on the couch watching their favorite cartoons, read books together, and play trains in the garage on his train table. He also loved attending their school and sporting events, and could often be found enthusiastically cheering them on from the sidelines. His family meant everything to him, and he treasured every moment spent with them and with his many friends.
John was a devoted husband, dad, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Those who knew him will remember his warm heart, the way he always made sure to tell people how much he loved them, and his unforgettable bear hugs that made everyone feel welcome and cherished. John’s love, laughter, and kindness will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who knew him.
John is survived by his loving wife Lynn of 52 years; his son Brad and his wife Mandy, and their children Camryn, Bailey, Maddox, and Teagan; his daughter Kristy Donnalley and her husband Sean, and their children Abby, Finn and Luke; his daughter Stacy Ochoa and her husband David, and their children David and Derek; his brothers in law, Keith Johnson and Dave Stokes; his sister in law Karen Stokes; his aunt in law Rosanne Gibson, and his beloved dog Lucy. John also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who loved him deeply.
