Mr. John Bernard Headrick

1918 -2013

Our Lord received an Angel on January 30, 2013 when John Headrick, age 94 passed away with family at his side.

John was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 9, 1918. John was one of seven children of Michael and Louise Headrick. John spent his childhood in Canton, Ohio until finishing high school and then went to work in the steel mill until 1941. John then was recruited into the Air Force and became a proud mechanic of the WWII P-38 aircraft. It was during this time he met the love of his life, his Mary Tilbury while stationed in Oxford, England. John served in the Air Force until 1945 then married in 1947. John and Mary moved to Hanford, California in 1949 to farm with his brother Don Headrick. Hanford became their home where they raised their 5 lovely children. In 1963, John joined State Farm Insurance Company as a local Agent and retired after 20 successful years of service. After retiring, John and Mary moved to Northfork CA, to enjoy the mountain life.

John was a devoted member of St. Brigid Catholic Church while living in Hanford. John was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Lions Club of Hanford and Veteran of WWII.

John is leaving behind his lovely wife of 65 years, Mary Headrick, and his 5 children; Carolyn Koelewyn and husband Mike, Mark Headrick and wife Kathy, Jim Headrick, Jeanette Brazil and husband Gary, Joanne Gordon and husband Scott; eight grandchildren, Richard Pierce and wife Michelle, Ryan Headrick, Jarrett Headrick and wife Amber, Madilyn Cordeiro and husband Corey, Derek Brazil, Kaitlyn Brazil, Trevor Gordon and Spencer Gordon; and seven great grandchildren. John also leaves three siblings residing on the East Coast.

A service will be held in his honor Thursday, February 7, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Fresno and his final resting place will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, Fresno.
