John T. Muro was born January 18, 1953 to Juan and Maria Muro, and passed away in Fresno, CA on September 12, 2024. He was born in Tijuana, Mexico and at the age of 3, the family moved to Fowler CA then to Fresno CA.
John took pride in being an uncle to all of his nieces and nephews. He cared deeply for his family and friends. For most of his adult life John worked as a manager in the thrift store business and ultimately owning a furniture store.
John is proceeded in death by his parents Juan and Maria Muro.
He is survived by his sisters Soledad Muro; Martha Muro; Anita Rivera and her husband, Albert; Esther Castro and her husband Pete; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
John was always interested in history and was well versed on many subjects. He also enjoyed family parties and events and was always willing to participate in a basketball or baseball game at family events. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 3:00 Pm to 7:00 Pm at Whitehurst Funeral Home, 836 E Nees Ave, Fresno CA 93720 with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 Pm.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 2838 N West Ave, Fresno, CA 93705. Burial to Follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, 264 N Blythe Ave., Fresno CA 93706.
