Carmela Lucy Ditommaso on August 22, 1958 at Saint Agnes Hospital
in Fresno, California. He was the second of three sons. Victor, 13
years his senior and Andrew, two years his junior. He is preceded in
death by his parents.
Jon is survived by his brothers, Victor Ditommaso (Sandra) and
Andrew Ditommaso (Cleora); nephews, Andrew Ditommaso,
Victor Hess, Matthew Ditommaso and Gabriel Ditommaso; great
nieces and nephew; and cousins.
Though being born with a hearing impairment, Jon kept up with his
brother and male cousins. While growing up, Jon spent his summers
at a cabin at Morro Bay his father and uncles built. His love for
spending time at Morro Bay never diminished.
Jon attended the school for the deaf at CSUF and graduated from
Fresno High School. He worked at St. Agnes and Clovis Community
Hospital in the kitchen. He was last employed and retired from the
IRS just nine months ago after 12 years.
Jon loved the 49ers, SF Giants, Jeeps, dogs, pick up trucks, John
Wayne, "muscle cars", country music, ‘70s and '80s Rock & Roll, the
Clovis Rodeo and all things cowboy. He loved family get-togethers,
celebrations and being an usher at CrossCity Church. He was deeply
sentimental, funny, a bit of a cheapskate yet thoughtful when he
gave gifts.
He loved his friends, parents, uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and
their children. He loved to laugh. He was not afraid to cry. He loved
a great party .... He drank deeply from the pool of life.
