Kathy, also known as Kay by family, way born in San Francisco CA where she spent her childhood. Her father moved the family to Fresno after the start of WWII, where he had started an insurance company specializing in crop insurance.
She attended Sacred Heart High School in San Francisco and one year at Fresno High.
She graduated from Lone Mountain College with a teaching credential and taught elementary school in the Fresno Unified School District for 30 years until she retired.
She loved spending summers at the family cabin at Donner Lake and teaching.
Kathy was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Turner O’Keefe, her parents, brother Joseph McSherry, former husband John M. Turner, and many loving aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her daughter Theresa Turner Nute, son John M. Turner Jr., and granddaughters Leandra Turner and Kathleen O’Keefe.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed.
Services will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 11:00am at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home 836 E Nees Ave Fresno, CA 93720.
