Kathleen Phylis Silva

Kathleen Phylis Silva, age 80 passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Whitmore Care Home in Clovis California. She was born on September 19, 1944 in Albany, New York the oldest daughter of Harold A. Dail and Esther P. Dail.

Kathy grew up moving from place to place as her father was a career Navy man. She lived in many different cities in the United States during her youth and graduated High School in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

After High School she moved to California where she spent the rest of her life. Kathy married her first husband Jim Witter and had 3 sons whose births she said were her “proudest moments and accomplishments”. After her divorce Kathy met and married Richard A. Silva and spent the next 52 years of her life with him. They were married on October 27, 1973 and she loved Richard dearly. She said that her and Richard used to love playing checkers together. They both also liked to travel together in their motor home visiting various places in the United States. Kathy adored her 2 Dachshunds Abby and Bella and spoiled them rotten.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her father Harold A. Dail and mother Esther P. Dail and her son Jason Andrew Witter.

Kathleen is survived by her husband Richard A. Silva of Fresno, California, her sister Barbara Dail of Titusville, Florida, her sons Gregory J Witter of Logandale, Nevada and Eric Witter of Chicago, Illinois and eleven grandchildren Joshua, Chase, Cole, Nathan, Faith, Ethan, Trevor, Pauline, Wyatt, Stella and Simone.

A memorial service will be held for Kathleen on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 4pm at the Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home at 836 E. Nees Ave in Fresno California 93720.
