Kenny was born on May 23, 1930, in Melvin, IA to Gertrude and Charley K. Huey. He passed away at home on Thursday, May 14, 2015, surrounded by loving family members, after a valiant struggle with failing health. Kenny lived in Iowa until 1936, when his parents and siblings moved to Mendota, CA. They moved to California to work in farming with Kenny's uncle, Louis Christopher. Kenny grew up in Mendota and graduated from Tranquillity High School in 1948. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. Soon after his arrival home, he met and married a lovely young widow, Genevieve Mabray. He helped raise her three children with great love and devotion. For many years, he was a partner in the Davis and Huey Farms. In 1973, he began working for Pacific Gas & Electric Co. He retired from P.G.&E. in 1995. Kenny's great passion in life was his love of God and family and friends. During the past thirty one years, he and his wife Ann have enjoyed traveling across the United States and supporting Fresno State Athletics. Ken was a Mason for 50 years and a Fresno State Foundation member. He belonged to the Fresno State Dug-Out Club and enjoyed cooking at the Sunday brunches. His family would like to thank the Asera Care Hospice team for their compassionate care. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Margaret Lambert, Edith Herrin, Fae Bandoni Machado, and Keith Huey; and his son, John Mabray. Kenny is survived by his loving wife, Ann Huey; his sister, Ruby Smalley; his brother, Robert Huey; his daughters, Donna Webster and her husband Mike, and Cheri Bagdasarian; his step-sons, John and Doug Thornton; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns and Blair Funeral Home on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Asera Care Hospice, 650 W.
