Jr. was born February 3, 1964, and lived a life defined by steady work, practical skill, and unwavering principle. He moved around for work early in life and eventually settled in Fresno, CA. For forty years he was married to Cindy: together they built a home and raised four children-Edward, Christina, Cecilia, and Sarah-and
watched their family grow into a large and beloved mess of grandchildren, each of whom he cherished and loved.
He was a fixer in every sense-an electronic technician, certified mechanic, warehouse supervisor, printer and copier repairman, and ultimately a Water System Operator Ill for the City of Fresno. Jr took pride in honest labor and the quiet responsibility of keeping a city's water running. He loved it so much, he opened his own
small business as All American Backflow Service. He loved the craftsmanship of things, the logic of how things work, and the satisfaction of making them right. He often said he preferred answers to theories, and he pursued understanding with the same hands-on curiosity he used to repair an engine or a faucet. He was a wealth of trivial random "stuff". Jr lived by a clear code: right and wrong were not negotiable. He modeled integrity in small actions-returning extra change, refusing shortcuts that compromised quality-and in his work ethic: showing up early, doing the
job well, and finishing what he started. He taught by example: his love language was work-presence, consistency, and provision. If you wondered where you stood with him, his presence at practices, games, and family meals answered that question. Our marriage weathered hard seasons. In our darkest moment he discovered a deeper faith; faith became the power that carried us when our own strength failed. He was never preachy-only steady-and that quiet trust reshaped him, us, and our family. He was a patient teacher to his children and grandchildren, able to fix a toy and boost a child's confidence in the same afternoon. He kept a President's List certificate tucked away and grease under his nails; you could
measure his life in pay stubs and callouses, but more importantly in the times he chose honesty and duty when no one was watching.
We celebrate a husband who stayed, a father who showed up, a grandfather who bragged about his family, a brother and some who took his responsibility seriously, a worker who treated excellence as honesty, and a believer who learned to rely on God. To honor him: show up, do the job as if it matters, fix what you can, keep
your moral line sharp, and when the road is dark, reach for THE ONE who holds everything. Jr, you ran your race, fixed what you could, and left us steadier and stronger. We will continue to show up for
one another, laugh at any three leftover screws, and continue your example.
"We rest in the truth of the gospel, the hope in His resurrection, and the joy of a life eternal."
