

Lee's 65 years in the tire business began as a teen working in the family business of Heitzig and Shirkey and later for Schoettler Tire. While at the University of Southern California he became a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon, but the school of his heart was Roosevelt High School where he played football and ran track. He was very proud of winning a 1st place medal in hurdles at the 1944 West Coast Relays. After Korea his life settled into raising a family, golf, and yearly campouts with "the gang" at Seacliff State Beach.
Lee was preceded in death by Ann Marie, his wife of 49 years.
He is survived by Nancy, his wife of ten years; his brother, Jack Heitzig; his children, Cindy Spangler, Nancy Ely and Lindsay Heitzig and his wife; along with seven grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at Clovis Cemetery on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at 10:30 a.m.
