

He worked for more than 37 years as an appliance salesman for the Sears Roebuck Co. in Fresno, until retiring at age 62. Throughout his golden years, he spent countless hours officiating track meets at the high school and collegiate levels. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, and family man. He took up ballroom dancing and greatly enjoyed traveling on cruises with his wife June.
Louis attended San Joaquin Memorial High School and served in the United States Navy from 1948 to 1950 on the USS Valley Forge aircraft carrier, dis- charged early to return home to care for his mother and family after his father had suffered a stroke. Later in life, he spent time serving as president of the Italian Catholic Federation chapter of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fresno.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Helen Grieco Adams, and Mary Katherine Truex DeJusto; and grandson, Nathan Grieco.
Louis is survived by his wife, June Grieco; his brothers, Vito, Joseph, Anthony, Robert, and John Grieco; his children, Patricia Hull, Louis Wm. Grieco, James Grieco, Christine Vercoe, and Gerald Grieco; as well as his nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns, & Blair Funeral Home on Monday, January 12, 2015, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
A Cryptside Service will be held at St. Peter's Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2015.
