Lucy R. Scribner of Madera, CA passed away on December 18th, 2024. Lucy was born on October 3, 1931 in Mezquite Gordo, Michoacán, Mexico. A vivacious and loving woman, Lucy was known for her dependable nature and her passion for life. She found joy in gardening, especially while tending to her beautiful roses, and in caring for her beloved birds. With a keen eye for fashion and style, Lucy always took pride in her appearance and enjoyed pampering herself with good skincare. She often encouraged her family to do the same. Lucy embodied elegance in everything she did.
Lucy was married to the love of her life, Hunter "Jim" Scribner, who passed away in 1999. Together, they shared a life filled with cherished memories and unwavering love. She frequently spoke about how well her "marido" loved and took care of her.
She is survived by her four devoted nieces, Rocio Diaz, Hilda Amezcua, Laura Alvarez, and Sara Rios, and three nephews, Ray Rios, Jaime Rios, and Adrian Rios, along with their respective families. Lucy was a beloved grandmother figure to 14 great nieces and nephews and to 5 great-great nieces and nephews, all of whom adored her. She is also survived by the Rios-Tapia family.
While Lucy will be deeply missed, her loving spirit and the memories she created with her family will remain in their hearts forever
A visitation for Lucy will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 at 4:00 pm Lisle Funeral Home, 1605 L Street, Fresno, CA 93721, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at 9:00 AM at Saint John's Cathedral, 2814 Mariposa St, Fresno, CA 93721. A committal service will follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens, 175 S Cornelia Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
