Lupe Anya Vera

Bor Lupe Anaya Vera was born on June 4, 1935, in Deming, New Mexico, the fourth child of Ramon Vera and Julia Anaya Vera.

Around 1948, Ramon moved the family to California, where Lupe

grew up in South Fresno and attended Roosevelt High School.

In 1958,

Lupe married Teresa Adame. Together, they had four children: Kathleen Vera-Outland, John Vera, David Vera, and Mark Vera.

Lupe began his career in upholstery as a teenager, a

trade he would practice for over 50 years. In the 1980s, he established his own business, manufacturing furniture for many local businesses throughout the Valley.

Outside of work, Lupe loved to BBQ and work on cars, but his favorite pastime was fishing. He spent many hours fishing across the Valley’s waterways, the mountains, and the Delta.

Lupe passed away on February 21, 2026, at the age of 90. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Lupe was a resident of Fresno, California.

A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, March 11 2026, from 3-6 pm, which will be followed by the recitation of the holy rosary at 6 pm at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns and Blair Funeral Home 836 E Nees Ave, Fresno , CA 93720.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 12 2026 at

11:00 am at St. Peter’s Cemetery 264 N Blythe Ave Fresno, CA 93706 .
