
Marjorie passed away on Friday April 27, 2012 at the age of 89. Marjorie Lake-Buck-Taylor was born to parents Frederic and Gladys (Proud) Lake in Caldwell, Idaho. She was the oldest of six children: three sisters and a half brother (Michael Davis) and a half sister (Nancy Jacobsen).
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold Buck (married 28 years) and Steve Taylor (married 22 years), and three sisters.
Marjorie worked for Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company as a manager for 36 years before retiring. She started out as a switchboard operator and was the first women to advance to several top management positions in the company.
Marjorie enjoyed being with her family, traveling, volunteering for various community organizations, reading, attending San Francisco 49er football games, scrabble, chocolate, tending to flower beds, singing in a choir, guitar music, eating at nice restaurants with family, and most of all serving others.
She was an independent, natural leader and was sought after by others for advice. She was approachable, a good listener and showed interest and compassion. She was always open to trying new things and valued exercising to her limits to stay healthy.
She left behind one daughter Joann and husband Tim Nehring; three grandchildren Shad and Shannon Berry, Nissa and Trevor Lind, and Seth Nehring; six great grandchildren Anjalee, Grant, Belen Berry, Kelsey and Kellan Lind, and Tyler Andrade. She also leaves a cousin and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be at Sierra View Presbyterian Church located at 5375 N. Maroa Ave in Fresno on Friday May 11, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
