On August 1, 2023, surrounded by family, all in God’s timing he decided that it was time our sweet Mom was to join her husband Joe and she peacefully passed away. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Joseph C. Pieretti of 54 years and a son Rickey L. Pieretti. She was also preceded in death by her parents Umberto Jacquin and Maria Jacquin.
Mary was born to immigrant parents from Italy in 1923. In her era, she experienced the Great Depression, then World War II, and the Korean War, both of which her husband served Honorably. With the help of the GI Bill, they were able to buy their first home in Fresno and raised their 3 sons. Mary worked for Guarantee Savings for most of her professional life. Her husband Joe worked for the Fresno County Sheriff’s Department, and both were your All-American type of Family. After the passing of her father, her mother moved into their home and lived with them until she passed. Her pride and joy was raising their three boys, spending time traveling with her husband, family and friends, and all the family gatherings that were held at their home on Cornell Avenue. Then later in life she enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The Family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to Heart 2 Heart Family Care Center where Mary lived for the last 3 years. We cannot thank the staff who have become family, enough for their time, dedication, and love that they gave to our mother. Julie, Chao, Kayleen, Kaylei, Mee, Lia, and Tia, our mom lived way beyond her years because of your love and care. She was so happy living there and formed many friendships with the residents as well. Especially the last group, Gay and Mich, “the golden girls” as they liked to refer to themselves as. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for all that you did to make our mom’s life full of love, laughter, and longevity. While our hearts are broken, and she is missed deeply, we know that she is happily reunited with her beloved husband Joe, along with many of our other loved ones that have passed, and we are at peace knowing this. Her memory will live forever in our hearts.
