During 92 years of living, Marylou Hernandez lived her life having a strong faith in God. This faith would see her through her marriage, the birth of 10 children and the loss of two of them.
Marylou loved music, especially mariachi music. When she was a young girl, her and her 2 sisters were offered a contract to make records in Mexico and her sisters not only sang but they played guitar and truly enjoyed singing all kinds of music.
As a young girl Marylou worked very hard to help support her mother and sisters. Her father had been deported after a raid in the field that they were working in. Her ethic of working hard in order to support her family stayed with her throughout her life. As a young woman, her family traveled throughout the California Coast. When she got married to Alfonso Hernandez Sr., her traveling days became less. Marylou was a very kind and compassionate person who made everyone and anyone that walk thru her front door feel at home. Marylou loved many things, the color purple, her garden full of roses, cats & dogs and coffee and pan dulce. Later in life her favorite memories were that of her youth.
Marylou was an amazing mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband Alfonso B. Hernandez Sr.; and her two sons, Guadalupe Hernandez and Alfonso B. Hernandez Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Lucy Bustamante: four daughters, Maria Rodriguez, Rita Amesquita, Anita Torres and Santos Torres: and four sons, Felix, Daniel, Joe and Tony Hernandez.
