Max Leon McDonald, Jr. was born in Fresno, CA, on December 23, 1941 as the only child of Max and Ineta McDonald. Max passed away peacefully on December 29, 2018 at the age of 77. He and his family are very grateful for many healthy years after his heart disease began at the age of 41. He was under the care of several exceptional physicians who helped him have an excellent quality of life.
Max was a graduate of Clovis High School (1959) and Fresno State (1964). He worked as a controller in the food and agriculture industry for over 40 years.
Max married Marilyn Nilmeier in 1962 and they had two daughters, Stacy and Susan. Max and Marilyn were always together supporting their daughters’ activities, autocrossing, traveling, and attending Fresno State football and basketball games together.
Max is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn; daughter Stacy Castellanos and her husband, Mike; daughter Susan Solis and her husband, Craig; and six grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 10:00am. Interment immediately following at Belmont Memorial Park.
