

Michael Douglas Hartfield, 75, of Clovis, California, passed away peacefully on August 3rd, 2024, following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born on December 18th, 1948, in Oakland, CA. Michael was the son of the late Wilson Hartfield and Helen Audrey DeRoco.
After graduating from St. Mary’s High School and attending Laney College, Michael began his career as a Pacific Telephone technician. He continued his work for 35 years and then retired from AT&T. Michael’s passion for tinkering didn’t stop after his retirement, as you would find him in the garage at home tinkering away almost every day, more specifically with cars or his model trains.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Michael is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beatriz Ramirez, and their daughters Joanna Feldman, Jackie Tobin, and Michelle Carter; and his seven grandchildren, Emily, Logan, Jackson, Lexi, Phillip, Kenzie, and Noah; as well as his siblings Tony Hartfield and Mary Hartfield.
Remembered for his resilience, sharp wit, loving heart, and kind spirit, Michael made a lasting impact on those who met him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
There will be a viewing at 9:30 am, with a funeral service to follow at 11:30 am on Saturday, August 17th at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home at 836 E. Nees Ave, Fresno, CA 93720. If unable to attend it will be streamed on the funeral home website.
