Michele Dawn Sundermeier, 60, of Fresno, California, passed away on November 8, 2022. Michele was born on July 8, 1962, to George & Betty Sundermeier in Tucson, Arizona, but lived in Fresno for the majority of her life. After graduating from Bullard High School in 1980, Michele went on to study Social Work at California State University, Fresno graduating first with her Bachelor's and then her Master's degree in Social Work.
Michele was a gifted social worker, with a keen ability to connect with others and recognize their true needs. Over the years she worked in the fields of foster care, home health, and hospice. Michele was remarkable in her compassion and intrinsically understood how to offer support that was both genuine and helpful.
Michele prioritized family time and valued each member beyond what words can convey. She was an adoring aunt who lived to spoil her 4 nieces and 3 nephews. Pizza and movie nights were her specialty and were greatly anticipated by all! She also loved helping teens navigate the high school years and kept in touch with these students post graduation, considering them family. More than anything, Michele loved her Savior, Jesus. She was a woman of faith who considered it an honor to pray for others. She delighted in answered prayer; it truly was the joy of her life.
Michele was preceded in death by her parents George and Betty Sundermeier. She is survived by her sisters Margo Sue and husband Kevin and Melissa Solomon and husband Jim, as well as nieces and nephews: Lindsey and her husband Drew Stull, Drew and his wife Rebecca Solomon, Lauren Solomon, Matthew Sue, Marin Sue, Micah Sue and McKenzie Sue and grandnieces Everly and Pippa Stull.
