Mr Monte Byrd

Monte, the only child of Hershell and "Bobbie" Byrd, was born on Dec. 18, 1935 in Bruceton, TN but raised in Fresno, CA. He graduated from Fresno High in 1954. At Fresno City, he met the love of his life, Jo Ann.

Monte fulfilled his childhood dream by graduating from UCSF and working 40 years as a neighborhood pharmacist. After retirement, he worked as an Associate Chaplain with Valley Missions helping men in our county jails have the opportunity to know Christ.

Monte was a devoted family man who enjoyed doing anything with his "girls". He will be remembered most by his playful sense of humor and as a caring counselor and leader.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann, of 52 years; two daughters, Lori Demeter and husband Ken and Julie Morgenstern and husband Mark; grandsons Aaron, Daniel, Andrew, Caleb, Tim, and Sam.

A memorial service will be held at The Bridge on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 11 am.
