Myrtle graduated from Fresno High School in 1954. She then attended Fresno State and as the story goes, chased her future husband Richard around campus until the two married in September 1956. Richard and Myrtle shared 66 wonderful years together, raising 2 children and enjoying many family vacations to Lake Tahoe. In later years, they enjoyed traveling to Napa and Pismo, touring the U.S. by bus, and cruising along the Mississippi on the American Queen. While raising her family, Myrtle worked at Fresno State’s Kennel Bookstore, and after retirement she spent her time as a Volunteer for St Agnes Hospital.
Myrtle is survived by her husband Richard, her son Mark and his children Matthew, Mallory, Margret, Brady, and Izzy, her daughter Kelly and son-in-law Steve and their children, Gina and husband Corey, and Angela. She was a proud great-grandma to Jemma. Myrtle also leaves behind her sister Elaine Hopper and her family.
Thank you to all of her care providers at Bright Horizons Hospice and Maple Tree Care Home.
Graveside services will be held at St. Peter's Cemetery on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 11:00 am.
