Myrtle Esther Mastoras, 86 of Fresno passed away November 26, 2020. She was born to parents Elmer and Esther Robinson on January 24, 1934, in Fresno, California. Myrtle graduated from Washington Union High School. She was known as Myrt to her family and friends. She married her high school sweetheart, Andrew (Andy) Mastoras in Biloxi, Mississippi on May 29, 1953.
She is survived by her former husband Andy and her daughters, Cindy Stiavelli and her husband Jerry, and Melinda Mastoras. She is also survived by her brother Ed Robinson and sisters Erma Vietty, Florence Badertscher and her husband Don and sister Carol Wathen. Aunt Myrt will be missed very much by many loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by sister Jean Hubbart and brothers Bob Robinson, Warren Robinson and Jack Robinson.
Myrtle started working right out of high school. She had a few other jobs before working for several years at Valley Fig Growers in the office. She then went to work for her oldest brother Bob for over 20 years, first at Robinson’s Auto Dismantling and then at Robinson’s Auto Body where she was the bookkeeper and sometimes ordered car parts.
She always wanted to look her best whether it was going to church or to work. It was amusing to all of us that she would wear suits and skirts to work when there was all of that dust from the cars being worked on and sanded right outside her office door, but there she was all dressed up with her hair done, nails polished and her coordinating jewelry for her outfit of the day. She loved to keep up with her family and friends and so would always take the time to give them a call and check in with them often to chat. She loved her large extended family and liked nothing better than to get together with the very large group at least three times a year. Easter, Christmas and there was always a party Labor Day weekend in recognition of her Mother’s birthday. She would help organize the party and menu items that were assigned out to be brought and make the calls to get commitment to the assignments. It was a task she very much enjoyed. She loved to celebrate birthdays and did so most every month with her brother, sisters and sisters in laws. They always had a grand time.
Due to the current restrictions, a private family service will be held with interment at Belmont Memorial Park.
