Stormin Norman was a great guy and good friend, I am truly sorry to hear of his passing

To the family of Norman,
Norman was our employee & friend at Sendai Sushi.  We could always hear him pull up at the back door on his motorcycle.  It was rare to not see him smiling while he entertained his guests at the sushi bar.  I enjoyed many beers, sake shots and fishing stories with him.  About a year ago I saw him at Takumi and it was like old times.  We laughed and shared stories.  It was so shocking to hear of this news of his sudden passing.  A friend of ours recently told us. Norman will be missed by many. He was a great friend and we shared many good times. He was always helpful and caring and the most generous person I  ever knew. Always thinking of others.  People will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will stay in your heart forever.

I go to work and I miss you brother.  You were more than a coworker, you were my friend and mentor.  I still cannot believe you have left all of us.  With your infinite wisdom into almost everything (because you knew a little something about everything), we all miss your guidance. The Zipangu family and the world has lost a great person in you. More than a cousin to me. I will miss you much, my brother, my friend.

Norm, you will forever be in our hearts. You were a wonderful person and alway's there when a friend needed a hand or a hug. I met you 32 years ago and you made me smile. You are deeply missed.

With deep sorrow I extend my sincerest regards to the Kimura family. I was with my wife Joanie the last time I met with the opportunity to talk with Norman which sadly was at Steve Kimura's service's. The next gathering that Norman and I attended was also under dark circumstances at the church services for my sweet little Joanie, who also introduced me to Norman sixteen years ago. I could have never imagined my having to face the immense loss of these three wonderful people, and in such a ridiculously short period of time.
Unfortunately, I was unable to speak with Norman or thank him for the valuable friendship that he has given to Joanie and to me. Joanie (and I) were always very fond of Norman and this would have been devastating for her.
Norman's persona was what makes pleasant memories, his friendship was a valuable asset, and his spirit was the sunshine that makes a day worth remembering. Norman, Steve, and my Joanie are in Heaven and probably together playing Backgammon. God Bless you Norman my friend, I deeply regret that I was unable to speak with you one last time.

To Norm's family,   I loved the picture you chose, so exactly Norm.  Cannot imagine that someone so alive is gone.  No one ever said life is fair, but we have to be reminded now and then.  He was a wonderful friend, a gregarious guy who always had that impish smile.  Will live on with those of us who loved Storming' Norman!'

Norman had an infectious laugh and a keen sense of humor like no other.  He loved to cook and entertain for his friends and always had the "Welcome Mat" out at his home.  I will miss you, my friend...thanks for the bike rides and give a hug to Russell for me.

I grew up with Norman as one of my adopted uncles.  I am great full for knowing him and having the chance to be served by him many times.  He had an infectious smile and warm welcome .  Heaven is lucky to have an amazing sushi chef.  Until we meet again uncle Norman.... Mushy  Mushy.

"Stormin Norman". He was a flash of lightning on the soccer field! I've known Norman since he was about 8 and you never met a nicer person. You will be missed my friend. Love and Prayers to the family!

To Normans Parents and Family,
Our sincerest condolences go out to you and every one that loved Norman. I was lucky enough to meet Norm through our mutual friend Walt. The memories I have of motorcycle rides are unforgettable. From the Santa Cruz Mountains to the Pacific Ocean and down Highway 1 to the Santa Cruz Pier and back home to the "valley". When we arrived home who was more than willing to cook for us....Norm....yes as always great food . We have many more memories of the great times we had at the San Jose Mile. It was the motorcycling that brought us together, and it was the camaraderie that he brought to make everybody feel welcome. He was a true gentlemen and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Our thoughts are with you at the loss of Norman. We have so many wonderful memories of Norman cooking for us, being there when our first child was born, good times at Shaver and his contagious smile. We will miss him dearly.

To Norman's family,
We're so sorry for your sudden loss. We have been Norman's sushi fan for long time. He made the best "seaweed salad special" and always made us little special treats every time we go to the restaurant. We had followed him from Zipangu to Takumi then back to Zipangu again. He was a special man and we shall miss him very much. Our condolences to his family.

Norm was always there for me.  I'll miss those eight o'clock dinners that ended up at eleven.  I miss you mushy-mush.

I had the pleasure of knowing Norman being co-workers at the restaurant. Not only did he teach me how to be a better chef, but he passed on wisdom that I will never forget. He is a friend that will truly be missed.

To Norman's parents and family,
I am so sorry to hear about Norman...he was a wonderful person.  Always loved to joke and laugh. And he always thought of others. Years ago he tried to teach me how to cook using just the basics (salt and pepper). We ended up laughing more than cooking. That and other good times are what I think about when I think about Norman.

All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Stormin Norman, you will be missed. Some of the best times I had were wiith Norm and the rest of the gang who worked at HP. I still remember the first day I met Norm. My sincere condolences to the family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Norman's family.  It has been well over 30 years since I had seen or talked to Norman but I cannot remember very many childhood memories that did not include him.  From swimming in the ditch, playing in the tree house or riding our bikes thru the vineyards.  Just about all the pictures Mom has of me when I was growing up has Norman in them.  I think the day you moved to Fresno will always remain one of the saddest days of my life.  I will mourn the loss of a old friend but I will enjoy my great memories of such a great friend.
