Ray, so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. I have fond memories of spending time with her and your family while I was in high school. Your family is in our prayers.

Seasons

As I reflect in the fall of my life,
 I remember my spring,  
As time cuts like a knife.

Bright and airy were the days of spring,
Birds fly on breezes and children began to sing.
And offspring's began to appear,
As summer was creeping so warm and so near.

As days got longer and nights did too,
Time gets lost,
Like me and you.

Fall began blowing with fresh morning dew,
As white turns to salt and black into pepper,
I long for the times I will always remember.

As days grow shorter now, and the sun loses its sting,
I think back to my youth the beginning of spring,
How I wish for the days of my life and one day longer,
And how my love for you got stronger and stronger.

As winter creeps in,
The sun starts to wane,
As fog rolls in and clouds turn to rain.

I sit and stare at my long windy road,
As winter makes its way,
To collect its toll, we all have to pay.

Time will heal the hurt of our loss.
She survived the battle for years until she was tired. Now she's resting in peace in a better place.
     Every winter I pull out my soft robes she gave me for Christmas(I call them "my Mother-in-law robes" ) :)...which have become my favorite to wear.  I've worn them for years, and will continue to wear them in her memory.  She was a strong woman and her memory will not be forgotten.  I have you all in my thoughts and prayers.
     With a heavy heart and all my love, my deepest sympathy to the entire Van Es family.

Aunt Pat, although we didn't get to see each other often over the years, when we did, we could always talk like it was just yesterday! I am so grateful for the two years that you and Uncle Sonny opened your home and raised me like your own! Lots of memories :) I truly don't think I'd be the person I am today!  You will be missed! <3 <3 <3
