The angel before you is Raluca, known lovingly as Ralu by her family.
She was born in Romania and came to America at just 12 years old, carrying with her a soft, sweet voice and an accent that never left her. It was part of her warmth - just like her contagious laugh, the kind that could fill a room and make even the heaviest hearts feel lighter.
Ralu was vibrant, outgoing, and a friend to everyone. She had a way of making people feel seen, loved, never judged, and always special. That was her gift. She didn't just walk into a room, she changed it. She is loved deeply by so many friends and family, a testament to the kindness and light she gave so freely.
She was creative and artistic, incredibly talented at drawing, and she brought that same care and beauty in to her work as a nail technician. But more that anything, she was affectionate, selfless, and endlessly giving. She would help anyone in her path, offering whatever she had - even her last dollar - without hesitation.
Ralu loved life in the simplest, fullest ways. She loved music and was always the DJ in the passenger seat, choosing songs that made every drive feel like a memory. She liked to dance, putting on a show, our very own diva and pop star, bringing joy and laughter wherever she went. She also loved to cook, always trying to feed everyone, making sure no one was left hungry.
The most important role she ever took on was being a mother. Five years ago, in this very hospital, she gave birth to her son, Peter - the love of her life. She poured everything into him, teaching him how to draw, how to care for animals, and how to move through the world with kindness and manners. Peter is so much like his mom - full of love, deeply affectionate, a reflection of the beautiful soul she is.
We are especially grateful that on her last day, she was able to spend precious time with her son. He still holds onto the flower she gave him that morning - -a small but powerful symbol of the love she will always have for him.
Ralu had a rare kind of strength. She forgave easily, never held grudges, and faced life with a quiet positivity that made even difficult moments feel lighter. She was a free spirit, someone who radiated love in a way that felt effortless and true.
Though her life was taken far too soon, she is still doing what she always did best - helping others. Through this gift, she will bring hope, healing, and life to those in need, and comfort to their families. That is who she is. That is her legacy.
