

Mr. Shelton was born on October 16, 1933, in Risco, Missouri, to his parents, Lloyd and Geneva Shelton. He married Emma Gantt in 1958. The Shelton's have lived in Fresno, San Jose, and Merced, California before moving to Maryland and, finally, back to where they started in Fresno. In retirement, Dale served in The American Legion as Post Commander of Post 509 and District Commander of District 14. Emma also served as president of The American Legion Auxilary.
Mr. Shelton had worked for Pacific Telephone and Folger's Coffee before going into the restaurant and cocktail lounge business with The King's Table in San Jose and Lawrence Square Lounge and Shelton's Lawrence Lounge in Santa Clara, CA. He then retired, after ten years of working for Product Development Corp. as Regional Director.
Mr. Shelton was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was an active participant of many activities such as bowling, boating, RVing, fishing, camping, hunting, horseback riding and softball. He was a fan of the Golden State Warriors, Oakland A's, San Francisco Giants, Forty-Niners and he especially loved his Oakland Raiders.
He is preceded in death by his mother; father; brothers, Gerald Lee Shelton, and Ronald Dean Shelton; and sister, Wanda Jean Shelton.
Mr. Shelton is survived by his wife Emma; brother, William Dick Shelton; daughter, Jill Kroeker; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at 11:00 a.m.
