Richard will be remembered for his lifelong love of music. From his first guitar to playing trombone at Bullard High School to his massive collection of albums in many styles of music. He also became a member of the Deutsche Opera Berlin chorus in 1983 along with his former wife Martina. He also had a love of cooking and loved to create dishes from whatever was on hand. Most of all he will be remembered for his love of his family and his willingness to do anything to help those in need.
He is survived by his mother, Carol Champion of Fresno; father, Richard Champion Sr. of Oakhurst; sister, Cynthia and brother, Robert of Fresno, and brother, Bruce of Oakhurst.
A Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 2:00 pm.
