Rinaldo Ortez, age 80 of Selma CA, passed away November 10, 2023. Ranaldo was born in Selma to Raymond Ortez and Gloria Platero on June 27, 1943. He attended Selma High School and graduated in 1962. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Marine Corp, serving in Vietnam. He made his career as a truck driver and retired from Garcia Trucking.
Rinaldo love spending time with his children and family watching baseball and football games. He also loved cruising around in his truck and a good classic cowboy movie.
Rinaldo was preceded in death by his father Raymond Ortez, mother Gloria Platero and stepfather Richard Platero, his brothers Pedro Ortez and Richard Platero.
Rinaldo is survived by his wife Ernestine Ortez, his daughter Gloria Yerger son in law Vince Yerger, Son Rinaldo Ray Ortez daughter in law Angelina Ortez, daughter Sandra Facio son in law Leonard Facio, Son Manuel Barragan daughter in law Lisa Barragan, Son Joey Aguilar, Son Leo Aguilar daughter in law Myra Aguilar, son John Michael Aguilar daughter in law Brizeida Aguilar, daughter Carolina Madrigal. 30 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Brother Frank Ortez, sister Jenny Roque, brother Manuel Platero and sister Gigi Rodriguez.

A visitation for Rinaldo will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, California 93720. A recitation of the holy rosary will occur Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 6:00 PM, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, California 93720. A mass of christian burial will occur Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 9:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2441 Dockery Ave., Selma, California 93662. A committal service will occur Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Selma Cemetery District, 2430 Floral Ave., Selma, California 93662.
Serving as pallbearers are Peter Ortez, Dominic Rodriguez, Leonard Aguilar, Issac Orozco, Danny Orozco, Vincent Yerger, Rinaldo R. Ortez Jr., Michael Gonzales and Frank Ray Ortez Jr.
