Robert "Bob" Perry was born on July 18, 1940, in Malden, MA and passed away at his home in Fresno, CA on April 27, 2022. Bob was preceded in death by his mother Florence Perry, sister Muriel "Mimi" Smith, brother Albert Perry, and first wife Virgina Perry. Bob and Virginia were happily married for 37 years and raised two sons before her unfortunate passing. Bob is survived by his wife of 21 years Grace Perry, sons Michael (Stacy) and Steve (Karen) Perry, and many nieces and nephews.
Bob graduated McClatchey High School in Sacramento, CA in 1958 and then entered the U.S. Air Force. He was based at Castle Air Force Base in Merced, CA where he proudly served for four years. After leaving the Air Force, he served 31 years in the California Air National Guard attaining the rank of Chief Master Sargeant. Bob was assigned to the 144th Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron at the Fresno Air National Guard Base where he distinguished himself by meritorious service and was awarded The Department of Defense Air Force Commendation Medal upon his Honorable Discharge in 1993.
Bob enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and his loyal dog Mia. Whether a walk around the block or a trip to the store, Mia was his constant companion. He stayed busy over the years with his hobbies including woodworking, oil painting, and tinkering to restore his vintage Ford truck. When Bob and Grace could get away, they would take their RV to the Pismo Beach area. To Bob nothing was more relaxing than a walk on the beach or visiting by a campfire.
In keeping with his strong religious faith, Bob was greatly involved with Saint Mary's Queen of Apostles Catholic Church. He was also actively involved with the Knights of Columbus and had achieved the rank of 4th Degree.
Friends and family are invited to a Rosary to commemorate Bob on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, 12:30 p.m. at Saint Mary's Queen of Apostles Catholic Church located at 4636 West Dakota Avenue in Fresno, CA.
