Roy was born in Gooding, Idaho on June 9th,1932 to Andrew Andersen and Sylvia McLin Andersen, the youngest of 9 children.
Roy served in the United States Air Force from 1951-55. He met Shirley Horn when he was stationed at Castle Air Force Base, and they were married June 9th, 1956.
Roy attended and graduated from Fresno State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He then went on to work for CalTrans for over 30 years as a civil engineer.
Roy is survived by his wife Shirley Andersen of Fresno, son Rick Andersen of Las Vegas, and daughter Tamara Andersen of Fresno. Roy is also survived by his 4 loving grand dogs. Roy will truly be missed.
A funeral service for Roy will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel, 202 North Teilman, Fresno, CA 93706. Following the funeral service will be an interment at 11:00 AM at Belmont Memorial Park, 201 N Teilman Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
