I will remember my uncle Reuben for his great scary stories as a child growing up hearing his stories as are family's sat outside on the grass for hours. I will remember his love for books and movies. I will hold in my heart great memories of family barbeques ,baseball at the park , Friday nights at Carl Jr's . With lots of love and a sad heart you will be missed dearly by me .

I don’t remember when I met you, I do remember where, it seems we were always together, we went to school together, we played softball, basketball and football. We worked at the same place. You and your family were a big part of our life, I loved you like a brother, RIP my friend 

My Uncle Ruben, Aunt Bert and cousin Leigh lived less than 2  miles from my family growing up. We got together all the time. I remember family vacations, movie nights, family diners and just laying on a blanket talking outside underneath the stars. I remember he loved to watch movies and read Stephen King books. My favorite memory is getting together to watch scary movies. To this day I still enjoy watching scary movies. I’ll always remember the great times our two families shared. I love you Uncle Ruben and you will always have a place in my heart.

My Dodger friend has gone to the bigger league in the sky.  Ruben will always be remembered as a big Dodger supporter.  A few times we enjoyed watching the Dodger games at my home. As a member of the National Latino Peace Officers Association Fresno County, Ruben and Bert contributed generously during the NLPOA Fresno County Scholarship Golf Tournaments, Back to School fund raisers and during the Holiday Dinner Coat Drive events. We will miss Ruben's friendly face at our monthly meetings. 

BELOVED BROTHER RUBEN
I cannot put into words how much you will be missed.  Losing a brother is hard to accept, accept I must, for we will all eventually be with you.  You may be gone but your love will be with us forever.  You tried to prepare us for your passing, but it has not lessened the heartache and pain we feel.  If there is any comfort, it is because your suffering is over.  There is an emptiness in our hearts, but your time here on earth will be measured by how you impacted your family, friends and those who knew you.  As a brother, you were not antagonistic, belligerent, aggressive, argumentative, or an attention-seeker, that’s what made you special.  You were a fun-loving guy; a delight to be around with and would say “Vatos locos let’s get down and party.”  That was a favorite phrase of yours.

Ruben grew-up in Highway City, attended Teague Elementary and Central Union High School.  His favorite pass-times were golf, softball and basketball.  He was a member of the Fresno MAGA Chapter and played golf every chance he had.  Ruben crossed many paths and left many fond many memories and should be remembered by his smile and how his good nature touched us all.  


Ruben, thank you for always helping, volunteering with the LPOA and just being nice to all people around you. Thank you for sharing your stories with me of my family's Restaurant, the Mexico Café, in Chinatown. You will be missed. May you RIP!


Ruben I will never forget you & your big warm smile that would light your heart up. Your a beautiful man that had great integrity & work  ethics especially when it came to union business.   I only wish I could of told you how proud I was to have you as my cousin  your going to be missed dearly.

I learned of Ruben's passing today and my heart is broken.  Thoughts and prayers go out to the family.  Ruben is free from all the pain and struggle. Walk around Heaven all day.

We are saddened to hear of Ruben's passing. We will always remember what a great person he was and his big smile! He was a caring man who treated people like family. He is missed already. May he be at peace.
