

Rupert Osuna passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2015, after a hard battle from cancer. Rupert was born on March 27, 1925, to Experidion and Juana "Gloria" Osuna in National City, CA. He was one of 13 children.
Rupert served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952, where he was stationed in Germany.
In June of 1953, he married Terri Cabral in Fresno, CA and remained married to her until her death in October of 2014. From their union they had four children
Rupert worked for the City of Fresno for over 35 years, and held the title of Supervisor in the Public Works Department, Street Division until his retirement in the early 1980's.
Rupert had a true compass in life which was his strong Catholic faith, his family, a strong work ethic, "Hold that shovel like you mean it", and to be honest and fair in everything that you do.
The family wants to give thanks to Dr. Constantine Phiripes and staff of Primary Care Consultants; Dr. Kathleen L. Behr; Dr. Sam Borno of the Cardiac Institute; Dr. Dennis R. Falk DDS and staff; Doctors Dina Ibrahim, and Uma Swamy of Community Hospital Cancer Center and staff; VA Hospital and clinical staff; St. Agnes Medical Center and Emergency room staff; Community Regional Medical Center Subacute and Transitional Care Center, Rachel Arenas R.N. Director and staff; Hinds Hospice and Home staff; and to his private home caregivers, Fred, Enrigue, Jessica, Gloria, Terri, Kaylee and Letecia for their outstanding and compassionate care for him while at home. Finally to Father Jesus Del Angel of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Father Rod Craig and all who have prayed for him during this difficult journey we thank you.
Rupert was preceded in death by his siblings, Victor, Lucio, Anastacia "Ann", Florence, Simon and Marylou; and his son Robert.
He is survived by his twin brother Robert; younger brother Steve; sisters, Orphelia, Valdalia "Daigo", Connie, and Virginia; his sons, Rodney and Randy; his daughter Yvonne; and a grandson Evan.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 22, 2015, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
Remembrances may be made in memory of Rupert Osuna to Hinds Hospice; or Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
