

Ruth E. Taylor of Fresno, CA passed away peacefully under the care of St. Agnes Hospice on Saturday, February 7, 2015. Ruth was born on August 20, 1934, in Springfield, MO, as the youngest of ten children. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ruth traveled extensively throughout the world with her husband during the course of their marriage, which took her to over 27 different countries. At one time, Ruth and her family lived in Dacca in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) for three years. One of Ruth's proudest moments was having dinner at the White House with George H.W. Bush. Ruth loved watching "Dancing with the Stars", tennis matches, and was also a devoted St. Louis Ram's football fan. Ruth's family was her life. She was incredibly proud of them and all of their accomplishments. She also firmly believed in and supported the United States Military and everything that it stands for. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Jeff Lee Taylor, retired General Manager and Chief Engineer of the Kings River Conservation District, in 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Shirlee and her husband Richard; her sons, Mark and his wife Pam, and Jeff and his wife Aimee; her grandchildren, Robert, Donny, Timmy, and Melissa; along with five great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Thursday, February 12, 2015, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
