Sandra (Sandy) Lee Halverson was born on March 13, 1942, to Virgil and Opal Wiggins in Winterset, Iowa. Sandy attended school in Winterset. On March 10,1962, she married William (Bill) Halverson in Winterset. They eventually moved from Winterset to Winton, California, from there to Modesto and finally to Fresno.
Sandy and Bill were married for 32 years until his untimely passing in January of 1994. On January 14, 2006, she married Stanley Fearnside and they were married until her passing on August 24, 2024.
Sandy and Bill were blessed with two daughters, Kelly and Brandi. She survived by her husband Stanley Fearnside, her daughters Kelly Bain and her husband Don Bain and Brandi Fry and her husband Tim Fry, brothers Steve Wiggins and his wife Jane and Kevan Wiggins and his wife Tammy. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Madison Rouff and husband Tyler, and Austin Phillips. Also surviving are Sandy's greatgrandchildren Karsyn and Chase Rouff. Sandy extended family includes 13 nieces and nephews. Sandy is also survived by Stan's two sons Craig and his wife Kendra Fearnside, Kevin Fearnside, and grandsons Eric and Brandon Fearnside. She was predeceased by her parents Virgil and Opal Wiggins and brother Ron Wiggins.
Sandy was a member the Peoples Church and assisted in the holiday gift wrap for the church members that were shut-ins and those in care facilities. Sandy among her many businesses were Creeping Charlie and Friends, Paper Fantasy, and Twisted Wire Creations. She and Bill enjoyed their vacations in Hawaii and touring Germany with Gary and Gunda Hofmann.
She and Stan enjoyed trips to the coast taking along Madison and Austin. They were able to visit Winterset twice, where she enjoyed being with her brothers and their families.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for all the prayers, the well wishes, the caring of neighbors and friends, and also thanks to all the Doctors and nurses that took care of her over the last four months.
A celebration of life for Sandra will be held Monday, September 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Peoples Church, 7172 N Cedar Ave, Fresno, CA 93720. Following the celebration of life will be a graveside service from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Clovis Cemetery District, 305 N Villa Ave, Clovis, CA 93612.
