
Shigeki passed away peacefully on Friday, October 26, 2012, in Fresno Ca. He turned 92 on October 23, 2012, and celebrated his birthday with his family the previous Saturday. He was born in Fresno and lived his entire life there. He was married to Masako for 64 years, until her passing on January 21, 2010. Together they owned and operated the Mochizuki Fruit Stand for over 50 years. Bob, as his family and friends called him, was well known for the delicious produce he raised. He loved farming and worked until he was nearly 80. His favorite hobby was fishing for striped bass.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Hide, Masao, and Yosh, of Fresno; and three of his sisters, Miye Mochizuki of Japan, Lydia Mochizuki of Fresno, and Kiyo Uchida of Fresno.
He is survived by his four children, Robert Michele and his wife Susan, Larry Frank, Carol Ann Chin and her husband Michael, and Chris Steve and his wife Cindy. He deeply loved his five grandchildren, Lisa, Jason, and Tenley Mochizuki and Spencer and Connor Chin. He is also survived by his two sisters, Michie Endow of El Cerrito and Fumi Ashizawa of San Francisco.
A private Burial Service was held on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Mountain View Cemetery for the family.
