An intelligent and vibrant member of a close extended family, Sandy was the youngest and most "stylish" of three very devoted sisters. She graduated from Bullard High School in 1980, and attended both Fresno State and Long Beach State. Sandy loved the fashion industry, beginning her career at age 16 on the sales floor at Rodder's, and later earning
executive-level positions with Bullocks Wilshire, Bullock's, Macy's and Gottschalks.
Our family's joy and fashionista, Sandy, will be forever remembered for her warm smile, compassion, sense of humor, charm, graciousness, loyal friendship and her endless enthusiasm to support family and friends. Those who were privileged to know her were endeared by her unconditional love and kindness.
The family is especially grateful for the wonderful staff at Community Regional Medical Center, Community Subacute & Transitional Care Center and the Hinds Hospice "angels" for their loving care of our dear Sandy.
Sandy was preceded in death by her mother, Stella Sklender Balich.
She is survived by her father Dushan "Duke" Balich; her sisters, Diane Chrisman and her husband George, and Rozie McCarter and her husband Dennis; her nieces Alexandra and Taylor Chrisman, who she spoiled with love; as well as numerous aunts, cousins and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter's Serbian Orthodox Church on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 10:00 a.m.
Remembrances in Sandy's memory may be made to St. Peter's Serbian Orthodox Church, 3502 N. First Street, Fresno, CA 93726 and Hinds Hospice, 1616 W. Shaw, Fresno, CA 93711.
