Stella Beato passed in peace on Wednesday, April 3, 2019. She was born in Sannicandro di Bari, Italy to Costanza Albanese and Vincenzo Minielli on August 26, 1929. She was the youngest of seven siblings. She took great pride in sharing stories and singing songs from her childhood. Stella and Vito Beato were married on October 29, 1950. They had two sons, Giuseppe and Vincenzo Beato. Stella was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt “Zia” and grandmother “Nonna”. She served and cared for her family in Italy and continued to do so when they moved to the United States in December of 1968. Each member of the Beato Family worked hard to support each other and the new life they were building in Fresno, California.
Stella found great pleasure in cooking and baking. Some of the best times were spent around the table with friends and family enjoying the home-cooked meals Stella would prepare. In recent years, her ability to cook and bake became limited, but she found new joy when she became the great-grandmother of Ezekiel James Henry in May of 2017. She adored everything about this little boy. Every FaceTime, photo and visit made her truly happy.
Stella would say, “We passed through lots.” It was because of Stella and Vito’s influence, strength and determination that the Beato family are the close family they are today. Stella is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Vito Beato. She is survived by her sister-in-law Santina Di Napoli; sons and daughters-in-law, Giuseppe (Rosanna) and Vincenzo (Sandra) Beato; grandchildren, Stella Rose Beato, Connie and Dustin Henry; great-grandchild, Ezekiel James Henry; Nephews and Nieces Giuseppe Mossa, Costanza De Luca, Anna Mossa, Domenico Mossa, Maria Grazia Mossa, Mario Peragine, Francis Agrifoglio, Costanza Mossa, Andrea Mossa, Tonino Mossa, Aurelio Mossa. Our Mom, Nonna, Zia will be greatly missed, but remembered within our hearts always.
