Our grandpa graduated from Central High in 1971 and went to college to study mechanics. During his first year of college he met Norilda. He knew from the first time he saw her that she was going to be his wife. In April 1972 he and Norilda became a couple at a BBQ held at Millerton Lake. Three weeks later on May 5, 1972 he proposed to her. They got married on June 3, 1972 by the court. The following March his first daughter, Rebecca, was born. That June his father passed away and he became the heart and glue that kept the family together. Steven took care of not only his wife and kids, but his mom, brothers and sisters. Our grandpa had a total of 5 kids, 4 girls, Rebecca, Mona, Margarita and Lorraine; and one boy, Steven, Jr. He also now has 8 grandchildren, Amanda, Jesse Jr., Eric, Isaac, Joey, Shalise, Jus and Steven who will soon be born.
Our grandpa’s profession was mechanics; he loved to work with cars. He spent 33 years of his life in college studying to get his Doctorate Degree and other achievements in mechanics.
Our grandpa had a strong passion for football and baseball. He coached softball, which his daughters Margarita, Mona and Rebecca played.
Our grandpa was amazing; he never gave up and had no mercy in his sports. Our grandpa’s favorite song is Super Freak, a man did he love to dance to that song. If anyone was sad all you had to was to watch him dance and you wouldn’t be sad anymore, and you wouldn’t remember why you were sad. But our grandparents’ song was “Mucho Te Quiro” by Rene Rene.
“After being with a woman so long you never forgot the curves, so mechanics is the same, you’ll never forget your profession.” – Steven M. Nunez
