Thomas Loy Williams was born July 12th, 1933 in Oklahoma to Eston Guy Williams and Bertha McCormick. He passed peacefully among loved ones on August 15, 2018. Throughout his long life, he loved and was loved by many people. Friends and family members found him every place he went. He was a beacon to those in need and a firecracker by nature. People knew him as a light-hearted soul that was as tough as nails. During his 85 years on this earth he: helped raise two boys and four grandchildren, was a contractor and built five houses, created a long green dragon statue at PlayLand, built and raced hard tops and super modified race cars at the Kearney Bowl for fun, served in the Army, helped create Christmas Tree Lane, and was a master welder/teacher at Fresno City College.
Tommy enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved being surrounded by familiar faces and seeing new places. He enjoyed dancing with the love of his life and made slightly past 65 years of marriage. He dared to ride dirt bikes with his crazy sons and grandsons. He tinkered with most things in life but liked motorcycle engines and cars the most. He was Emit The Fix it Man when stuff broke frequently. He was an avid golfer and bowler and part of a mysterious team. For five years he was a Manager for another secretive softball team. Later in life, he retired and often was seen dominating the slot tournaments, which caused casinos many tears.
He will be missed by everyone and never forgotten. He is survived by wife Shirley Williams, sisters: Betty Moore, Shirley Burton, Pat McIntiosh; and brothers: Morgan Williams, deceased: Everet and Eston; Family: Rodger, Sheri, Jared and Ryan; Rodney, Joyce, Tracy, Lynzie; 6 Great Grandchildren and counting.
